This new month brings many new exciting vehicles to the Indian automotive market. From budget-friendly vehicles to super-luxurious cars, we have made a list of new cars launching in the month of March 2022.
Skoda Slavia: March 3
Skoda unveiled the all-new Slavia in India a few months back. The Slavia 1.0-litre TSI comes with a base price of Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the automaker is yet to announce the prices of the 1.5-litre variants. This engine can generate a total power output of 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the engine comes paired with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG transmission setup. The Slavia is built on the MQB A0 IN platform.
Mercedes Benz Maybach S-class: March 3
Mercedes-Benz India is readying up to bring its flagship model the Maybach S-Class to India. The Maybach S-Class will be one of the high-end models sold by the automaker in India and will be placed above the standard S-class. Also, only a limited number of luxury sedans will be sold in our market. We are expecting the Maybach S- Class to come in two different trim and engine options- S580 and S680. The high-end variant will feature a 6.0L V12 engine generating 612 bhp mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The brand will introduce the new Maybach on March 3rd, 2022.
Volkswagen Virtus: March 8
The Virtus will be a replacement for the Vento. Volkswagen had earlier announced that the company is ending the production of both Vento and Polo. The Virtus will be built on Volkswagen’s MQB A0 IN platform and will be placed in a similar category as the Skoda Slavia. The Virtus will be bigger when compared to the Vento and will feature a high-performance GT line along with the standard unit. More information about the premium sedan will come out on 8th March 2022.
Lexus NX 350h: March 9
Lexus India will introduce its NX 350h in the Indian markets on March 9th. This will be the automaker’s first launch in 2022. Moreover, the bookings for the upcoming SUV commenced on the 19th of January. However, the prices will come out only after the launch. The SUV’s 2.5-litre engine along with the dual electric motors delivers a total power output of 244 bhp.
MG ZS EV facelift – March 7
MG had earlier revealed the upcoming facelift version of the MG ZS EV. The upcoming mid-size EV gets exterior updates on the bumpers, headlamps, and taillamps. Also, the car gets new futuristic alloy wheels, and the charging port is now placed on the front, next to the MG logo. We expect the ZS EV to feature a larger battery pack to put an end to the range anxiety. Further details about the upcoming EV will be available after the launch, on the 7th of March.
BMW India has already made multiple new launches in the year 2022. Next in line is the BMW X4 facelift which will be officially unveiled this month. The SUV will feature a limited Black Shadow edition just like the 2 series. You can book the new X4 for Rs. 50,000/– from BMW’s official website.
Toyota India unveiled its global bestseller, the Hilux pick-up last month. The automaker had to close the bookings shortly due to the massive response. The manufacturer will reveal the prices and delivery dates for the Hilux this month. Moreover, the Hilux comes in two different variants sharing the same 2.8-litre diesel engine.
Maruti Suzuki launched the all-new Baleno last month. Several spottings hint at the arrival of the new Baleno rebadged as Toyota Glanza. The upcoming hatchback will get similar styling and tech updates as the new Baleno. However, we will have to wait to see the powertrain and other interior features of Glanza including the heads-up display.
Another exciting launch from Maruti is the upcoming Ertiga facelift. We are expecting the facelifted version of Ertiga to come out this month. However, Maruti is yet to announce the official launch date. The upcoming facelift of Ertiga will feature an updated front grille and four new colour variants. Also, we expect minor changes inside the cabin as well. Under the hood, the Ertiga will feature the current 1.5-litre engine integrated into a manual and a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission system.
1. Is MG Astor and ZS EV the same car?
Both Astor and ZS EV get similar exterior and interior styling, however, the Astor has a combustion engine while the ZS Ev gets an all-electric powertrain.
