New-Gen Suzuki Alto: Exterior Styling

The overall design of the new Alto looks boxy and quirky. At the front, the hatch gets a single-tone bumper with an asymmetric grille and air intake vents. The headlamps are rectangular with rounded corners. A chrome lining runs between the headlamps and a Suzuki logo is placed in between. The Sculpted form of the bumper and hood gives the Alto a charming look.

The side profile of the car is dominated by the upright pillars and windows. Moreover, the dual-tone paint job and alloy wheels add more value to the exterior styling of the Alto. On the rear, the new Alto comes with a flat design styling. the bumper gets a sculpted rectangular border with a cavity for the registration plate in the canter. The taillamps are now placed at the same height as the rearview mirror.

Inside the cabin, the new Alto comes with a redesigned double-layered dashboard. The updated model gets a new steering wheel, instrument cluster, and a new touchscreen infotainment system. However, the AC vents, and the front and rear seats look the same as the outgoing model.

Suzuki has included multiple new safety features in the new generation Alto, such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection and forward collision avoidance, lane departure warning and high-beam assist.

Engine and Transmission

The new Alto will get its power from a three-cylinder 660cc petrol engine. This motor will work in combination with a mild-hybrid technology, with an integrated started generator (ISG) and a small lithium-ion battery pack to store energy. The engine comes connected to a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox. However, Suzuki is yet to reveal the power figures of the new Alto.

Next-gen Suzuki Alto for the Indian Market

The India-spec Alto will be completely different from the one being sold in the Japanese market.
