The Nissan Leaf was spotted testing recently in the country. The news and rumours for Nissan’s first electric car started way back in 2019 and now that may be put into action this year. The Nissan Leaf was already spied testing in Delhi, which may mean that the model may enter the Indian market. The latest spy image of the car shows a fully electric hatchback with a green licence plate.

Demand for EVs

Although the Nissan Leaf was seen on Indian roads recently, the car was also spied on in the year 2019 multiple times. The image of the car was revealed on several occasions and it was much awaited. Since the sales of EVs in the market have increased and many new companies have also been introducing electric cars, the Nissan Leaf may be released soon.

Nissan Leaf: Features and battery

The Nissan Leaf is expected to have the latest and best features. The look and tech will be of the premium build. The model will also have the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and many other features to improve safety.

This electric car is expected to get a 40kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is likely to have a battery range of around 240 km with a single charge. The electric motor will be able to generate 146 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. 

The Nissan Leaf is a very popular model in the electric car segment and with enthusiasts. It is sold in at least 50 countries around the world and the Indian market is a thriving one currently. The Leaf is expected to come as a CBU unit and its expected price is Rs. 40 lakh. The Nissan Leaf’s main competitors will be the Mini Cooper SE and the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge.
