The Nissan Magnite has now accumulated a total of 50,000 plus bookings in India. Nissan had previously struggled to sustain itself in the market. With the new SUV, it seems like they’ve come back strong. The booking was started in November 2020, since then we have seen the prices hiked a couple of times. Leaving the price aspect Nissan has done really good with the compact.

Nissan Magnite
The market for compact SUV’s is fierce and the Nissan Magnite is placed against the Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza.
To meet the demand, Nissan is ramping up its Chennai production plant to increase the production unit up to 3,000 from July. Nissan had hired 1,000 people to increase the production last December. The sales have gone from 17,831 units in 2019-2020 to 18,886 units in 2020-2021 with a growth of 6%. The company expects more bookings this fiscal year, but with the second wave of Covid right around the corner supply still remains a challenge.
