Peugeot was seen testing an SUV on Indian roads and this is not the first time. The Stellantis car maker is testing the Peugeot 2008 without camouflage. The SUV was seen on the Hosur highway near Chennai, which is in the south of India.
Peugeot 2008 highlights and transmission
The Peugeot 2008 has a very contemporary SUV design. Some features of the SUV include a big wide grill with the lion in the centre. The SUV has LED headlamps with LED DRLs and taillamps that are new and updated.
According to speculation, the Peugeot 2008 is testing the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which will power the Citroen CC21 SUV which will debut soon in Indian markets.
Stellantis’ plans for the SUV
Citroen plans to launch its second product in India, the C3, in 2022 with the current plans to develop the SUV. Meanwhile, Jeep is gearing up to undertake three new models. The Compass Trailhawk will return in the imminent weeks – the variant was discontinued when the restyling was launched. The new Jeep Meridian and the new Grand Cherokee will also arrive in the coming months. The Grand Cherokee is expected to be made locally with only the five-seater model expected to arrive here.
