Porsche is bringing the best of both worlds to India on November 12, 2021. The electric sports car Porsche Taycan EV and the updated SUV Macan will be launched in India. Taycan will only compete against Audi e-tron GT for now. Whereas the Macan goes against the BMW X5, Mercedes Benz GLC, Audi Q5. 

Porsche Taycan EV

Internationally, the Porsche Taycan is available in several variants: 4S, Turbo and Turbo S. Turbo variants do not mean that the Taycan uses a turbo IC engine, but simply indicate the power and range of the fully electric Taycan. The Porsche Taycan 4S emits 564 hp offering a range of 463 km. The mid-range Turbo variant has an output of 660 hp and the offered range is 450 km. The more powerful Turbo S variant delivers 740 hp and offers a declared range of 420 km.

Taycan is Porsche’s first-ever electric vehicle. The Electric sedan has a sporty and futuristic design outside. Taycan takes its design from the Mission E concept by Porsche. Just like all the other cars by Porsche, Taycan gets unlimited styling options both outside and inside the vehicle. According to Porsche, charging the Taycan from 5 to 80% should take just about 22.5 min, and you can add some 100 km of range in 5 minutes.

Inside the car, The leather/Alcantara-covered dashboard is dominated by a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.4-inch center console. The big screen provides access to some important functions. Whereas the small screen helps to access climate settings, navigational details, battery status and more. 

The Porsche Taycan will be launched in India as a CBU model and the prices are expected to start from Rs 1.9 crore and Rs 2.2 crore (ex-showroom)

Porsche Macan

The Macan was introduced in the international markets in July 2021, The Facelift of the SUV has now made its way to India. The GTS model will become the new high-end Macan. It comes with a 2.9-litre V6 engine that can produce 256 bhp of power. The Macan turbo s will get a 2.9 litre twin-turbo V6 engine that can churn out 374 bhp. All the models are mated with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with an all-wheel drivetrain.

 The facelift model also gets new updated sports adaptive air suspension and a reworked Porsche suspension management.

Design updates include- redesigned front grille and rear diffusers.

Inside the cabin, Macan gets the Steering wheel from 911 GT sport and a new center console with touch-sensitive panels instead of physical buttons.

Porsche Design and performance have been admired by automobile enthusiasts all over the world. We’ll have to wait and see if Porsche can make shifts in the supercar segment With the introduction of the all-electric Taycan.
