A price hike has been announced for two models of Toyota Kirloskar’s premium lineup including the Fortuner and Innova. The Fortuner SUV has a price increase of up to Rs. 1.20 lakh and the Innova MPV has increased up to Rs. 56,000. There are no other updates or changes on either of the models have been reported. This increase in prices was announced after the launch of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck. The new Toyota Hilux is based on the platform used in the Innova Crysta and Fortuner. Toyota Fortuner Price hike in April
The 4×4 variants of the standard trim of the Fortuner have been increased by Rs. 75,000 whereas, the 4×2 variants of the SUV have been hiked by Rs. 40,000. The Fortuner’s top variant, the Legender trim has now been increased by Rs. 1.20 lakh as well. In the market, the Fortuner is now available at a starting price of Rs. 31.79 lakh and can go up to a whopping Rs. 44.63 lakh.
The Fortuner is available with two engine options which include a 2.7-litre NA petrol engine and a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine. The naturally aspirated petrol unit generates a power of 164 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine can pump out a power of 201 bhp and torque of 420 Nm. Both the petrol and diesel engines will be offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The previous Innova Crysta was priced between Rs. 16.89 and Rs. 25.32 lakh initially. Although, the increase in prices has increased the range in price between Rs. 36,000 and Rs. 56,000. This Toyota MPV now starts at a starting price of Rs. 17.45 lakh for the entry-level 2.7 petrol variant. It can go all the way up to Rs. 25.68 lakh for the top trim 2.4 diesel AT variant.
The Innova will have the same 2.7-litre NA petrol engine which is present in the Fortuner. It will also have a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine which can generate a power of up to 148 bhp and peak torque of 360 Nm. The transmission options for the Innova include a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.
