Renault approves to bring the New Gen Duster to India

New Gen Duster

Renault is readying up to bring the new-gen Duster to India. Renault is currently working on the technicalities of bringing this new model to our market. This is the 3rd generation of Duster. However, we never got the second generation duster in India. We might be able to see the new Duster on our roads by late 2023 or early 2024. Here is what we know about the upcoming Duster.

New Gen Duster: Design and Styling

The upcoming Duster could see the same aesthetics of the Dacia Bigster concept showcased last year. This concept looks like the current duster with a much updated and futuristic design styling. In fact, Duster was sold by Dacia in foreign markets. However, it was rebadged as Renaut in India.

The Bigster gets a tallboy stance and has a length of approximately 4.6 meters. This is larger than the current duster. The prominent wheel arches and the front skidplate creates an agile and serious offroader look to the vehicle. The sleek front grille and vertical air vents create a sophisticated look and great airflow towards the wheel arches.

The overall boxy design and rugged characteristics should help the SUV perform well during offroading. At the rear, The rear bumper integrates with a huge silver skid plate. The front headlamps and rear taillamps come in a Y- Y-shape design. this could be carried forward to the production model.

New-gen Duster: Powertrain

The third-gen Duster will be underpinned in CMF-B modular platform that belongs under the Nissan-Renault alliance. This platform was previously used for the production of vehicles such as Sandero and Logan. Moreover, This new platform delivers enhanced drivability and safety when compared to the outgoing model.

Furthermore, this platform will help in the electrification of the upcoming duster. In fact, the SUV will come with a hybrid powertrain setup currently seen in a few European models. A larger 1.8 litre NA motor could replace the current 1.6-litre engine. The new engine also supports the Atkinson cycle, which is already seen in Toyota hybrid cars.

Future of Renault

Renault has four cars in its India lineup. The Kwid, Triber, Kiger and Duster. However, the rapidly advancing automobile market outdates vehicles constantly. Renault will have to bring new models with great styling and advanced features to stay up with its competition in different segments. The duster has been a huge success when it first came out and the new update will surely bring back a lot of attention to this best-selling model.
