The sales report for Feb 2022 is out and we know the progress of each carmaker last month. The top 5 spots were retained by the same makers and it goes like this: Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra and Kia. The majority of the list has experienced a decline in their YoY growth and only a few makers managed to have positive growth.

Now that we know the carmaker’s performance in the month of February, we need to focus on individual cars that topped the sales report in Feb 2022. In this article, we will tell you about the top 10 best selling cars in Feb 2022.

1. Swift (19,202 units)

The best selling car in February this year is the Maruti Swift with a total of 19,202 units sold. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the hatchback is a popular car in the market and has done the same for the company many times over the years. Even though Swift has a decline of 5% in YoY growth it steals the top spot from WagonR.

2. Dzire (17,438 units)

In the second spot is the Maruti Dzire with 17,438 units sold in Feb 2022. This is a 16.5% MoM growth compared to 14,967 units in Jan 2022 and YoY growth of 46.5% compared to Feb 2021.

3. WagonR (14,669 units)

The third podium goes to the Maruti WagonR hatchback for selling 14,669 units in Feb 2022. The WagonR sales have declined compared to the previous months, dropping it to third from first. The MoM growth is a negative 27.8% compared to 20,334 units sold in Jan 2022. Maruti recently launched the 2022 WagonR facelift. This might help WagonR to push up its sales in the coming months.

4. Baleno (12,570 units)

Maruti takes the top 4 spots and this time it’s the premium hatchback Baleno in the 4th spot. They sold a total of 12,570 units last month compared to 20,070 units in Feb 2021. This gives it a YoY growth of negative 37%. Maruti also updated the Baleno last month. The overall design of the 2022 Baleno is updated with new features introduced.

5. Nexon (12,259 units)

The first SUV to feature on the best selling cars in Feb 2022 is the Tata Nexon. The 5-seater compact SUV managed to sell 12,259 units in Feb 2022 to grab the 5th spot. Mahindra has had a good month with an over 38% spike in their sales last month. Even though the XUV700 seems to be selling like hotcakes, the Bolero being the best seller for Mahindra is a little surprising. They sold 11,045 units of the Bolero in Feb 2022.
