Skoda will launch the 2022 Kodiaq facelift in January 2022. The automaker has commenced the production of the SUV in its Aurangabad plant ahead of launch. The Kodiaq was introduced back in 2017 but was discontinued after BS6 norms were introduced in India. In place of a diesel engine, the facelift will offer only petrol powertrains.

The Kodiaq facelift is based on VW’s global MQB platform and will come with a fresh design and aerodynamic updates. With Skoda’s sales bumping up with the launch of the Kushaq, they expect the same from Kodiaq.

Similar to the 2.0 TDI engine, the new petrol motor will also come with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and gets a standard all-wheel-drive system.

It features a redesigned front grille, elevated bonnet, new LED matrix headlights and a revised bumper. The rear end has a slightly tweaked bumper with new taillights. Apart from a new set of alloy wheels, the side profile mostly remains unchanged.

Just like the predecessor the interior is likely to be similar. Apart from the two-spoke steering wheel, a larger 9.2-inch touchscreen system the others remain the same. Like the 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, 3 zone climate control.

As for safety, the Kodiaq facelift will feature 9 airbags, front and rear parking, hands-free parking, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, traction control, limited-slip differential and more.

The predecessor priced between ₹33 to ₹36.5 lakh the Kodiaq facelift might cost around ₹38 lakh. The SUV in the overseas market is available in Active, Ambition, Style, L&K and RS trim. However, the RS trim is still not confirmed for India. As for the competition, the Kodiaq facelift has none for the time being. But it will compete with the Jeep Meridian when launched.
