Skoda Kushaq to Get Monte Carlo Edition

Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo

Skoda India introduced their Kushaq model last year. Following the success and increase in sales of Kushaq, Skoda has confirmed the launch of a special edition called the Monte Carlo edition. The SUV will be offered in mainly 3 variants, that is Active, Ambition and Style trim and the Kushaq Monte Carlo will be above the Style variant. The Monte Carlo edition is expected to get changes and upgrades on its interior, exterior and many additional features as well.

The Monte Carlo edition may not be news to you as it was offered for the Skoda Rapid sedan. This trim is still available in models which are sold abroad.

Features

The Monte Carlo edition is likely to follow the theme which was set by previous Monte Carlo editions of Skoda cars. Therefore, the car is expected to have a black-themed look on its exterior. It is likely to have exterior badging, black alloy wheels and chrome embellishments which will be replaced with gloss black. The cabin of the model will also have a colour theme of black and red highlights.

The Style variant has features like ventilated seats, a sunroof, wireless charging and many more. The Monte Carlo variant gets a few additional features like the 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a reverse parking camera and 6 airbags are also available in the whole package.

Monte Carlo: Engine

Since it is based on the Style variant of the Kushaq, it is likely to have both engine options. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 175 Nm of torque. Or it may be offered with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which makes 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre engine will include cylinder deactivation technology for improving fuel economy. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The former engine pairs with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter.

Auto enthusiasts have many expectations from the Monte Carlo edition that is going to be released. The Skoda Kushaq starts at a price of Rs. 14.89 lakh and there may be a price increase of around Rs. 50,000 to 60,000 for the Monte Carlo variant. The main competitors against the Skoda Kushaq are the VW Taigun, MG Astor, Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta.
