Skoda released the new SUV Kushaq in India earlier this year. The Kushaq comes underpinned by the MQB-AO-IN platform and happens to be the first product that comes under India’s 2.0 project. The Kushaq has had great first impressions and features that seem highly competitive in comparison to Kia Seltos which is also an equally good rival. In terms of power both are almost identical thanks to the Turbo engine in Kushaq, it has a powerful engine and torque as well. Other than these, both get an option of the manual and automatic transmission, both have quite a competitive edge here as one offers as there is also the 7-speed DCG vs. 7-speed DCT. In terms of dimensions, Kushaq appears to have a larger wheelbase compared to Seltos which is taller than Kushaq. Overall Skoda Kushaq is a spacious vehicle with a powerful engine. The only edge here Seltos has over Kushaq is the addition of a diesel engine.
Exteriors
The design feature in an SUV is important to catch the attention of the audience. While both these SUVs look astounding, Kia debuted Seltos in 2019, it happened to be the best-looking SUV in the segment. Although Seltos has its contemporary edge and looks fresh in 2021, Kushaq seems to look minimalistic post the launch now. Seltos has gone all out for the design scheme, looks flamboyant, effortless, and is an eye-captivating muscular SUV. The LED lamps have a signature touch, the front has a beautiful sculpt and the rear is attention-seeking.
The Kushaq like mentioned above is quite well-suited in the minimalistic design scheme it has opted for, conventional yet gives a bold strike. Its front butterfly grille and split LED lamps on either side are also some bold exterior points. The proportions are neat and crisp and look muscular, just like one expects an SUV to be. In terms of the exteriors, both seem to be a hard pick, it narrows down to one’s personal choice and liking in this category.

In this as well, both the SUVs have a similar and likeable interior design scheme. Both have a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system that are the most important interior features to say. Seltos has an asymmetrical layout for the centre console which is quite aesthetically pleasing, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a neat and fit interior scheme that perfectly suits this car. The switchgear has similar ergonomics and appears to be spot-on just like in Kushaq.
Kushaq on the other hand has a beautiful interior design scheme as well. The design here as well is more minimalistic and flamboyant, focusing on a dual-tone aspect here. Overall, even the gorgeous interiors here are a premium feel and hard to choose between as both are extremely likable.
Safety
The Seltos is equipped with all the primary safety features like ABS with EBD, ESC, Tyre pressure monitoring systems, and vehicle stability management, and advanced safety features like Emergency Stop signals, Curtain airbags, Ice cube LED fog lamps, passenger belt reminder, and Inside door handle override.
Kushaq on the other hand comes with 6 airbags that include frontside and curtain side airbags, hill-hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, multi-collision braking system, and electronic brake-force distribution system. In terms of safety, both these cars come with great safety features although Kushaq provides safety features as an optional extra, Seltos might be a better option.
Other features:
While both these SUVs are feature-loaded, common features in both are ventilated seats, a 7-inch multi-information display screen, wireless charging, connected car tech, cruise control, etc. But Seltos does have an advantage in some aspects for features like a 360° parking camera, a BOSE sound system, and an 8-way powered driver seat, which are unique features of this car.
