The much anticipated Skoda Octavia 2021 has been launched with its ex-showroom price. The 4th generation production had already begun prior to launch. But Skoda had to postpone it because of the ongoing Covid-19 situation, But the wait is finally over. The new Octavia seems bigger, better and loaded with more features than before.
Octavia has a good reputation in the market and has maintained unique characteristics, like tough build, high quality and fun to drive nature. This time Skoda seems to have made the car keep up to their high standards. The executive sedan segment has been almost dead with no competition whatsoever. But with the introduction of the new Octavia, the segment could come back to life. The only other competition for Octavia is the Hyundai Elantra.
Skoda Octavia 2021: Price and Rivals
Skoda Octavia is offered in two trims, Style and Laurin & Klement (L&K). The Style trim is priced at Rs. 25.99 lakh and the L&K trim is priced at Rs. 28.99 lakh ex-showroom. But the competitor Hyundai Elantra is priced between Rs. 17.85 lakh to 21.12 lakh ex-showroom. This gives the Elantra an edge over the Skoda Octavia, but the royal fans of Octavia shouldn’t be stopped by this.
What will the notchback offer?
The Octavia has plenty of features to offer, a 10.25-inch instrument console compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multi-function two spoke steering, two-zone climatronic AC, wireless phone charging, ambient and paddle shifters. Safety includes ABS, EBD, ESC, AFS (adaptive front light system), MKB (multi-collision brake), MBA (mechanical brake assist), EDL (electronic differential lock), driver fatigue alert and more.
The Octavia will be offered only in petrol variant, it features a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine which churns out 190ps of peak power and 320Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox which only powers the front wheels. The Octavia will be offered in 5 different colour options, Magic Black, Lava Blue, Candy White, Brilliant Silver and Maple Brown.
