Skoda is finally launching the long-awaited 2021 Octavia on June 10th. The company confirmed the launch on Wednesday on its Twitter account. The launch is a virtual event and reservations have started. However, the company had already started the production of the car in its Aurangabad facility. The new model has already been dispatched to the dealers. Few dealers have started accepting pre-bookings for the new Octavia.
The 2021 Octavia for all global markets was first unveiled two years ago. But in India, Skoda unveiled the Octavia in 2021. Skoda had plans of launching the car in late April or early May. The company also had the first batch of cars rolled out from its Aurangabad plant even before the launch. It got cancelled because of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Unfortunately for some diesel fans, the car unlike its predecessor will only be offered with a petrol engine. It will feature a 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine which churns out 190bhp and 320nm of torque. It gets the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard.
