Skoda India has commenced the production of the premium sedan Skoda Slavia 2022. The Slavia is the third car in Skoda-Volkswagen India 2.0 strategy. The production is taking place at the automakers manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra. We are expecting to see the Slavia hit the roads by March 2022. Skoda Slavia 2022: Exterior Styling
Skoda Slavia gets a unique and original crystalline design language. The sharp contours and crisp body line highlight Skoda’s heritage and DNA.
At the front, The butterfly grille gets a chrome surround styling and the sleek headlight comes with an L-shaped LED DRLs. The significantly massive Bumper houses a sharp-formed foglamp mount, a spoiler on the bottom, and a wide air inlet. Moreover, highlights of the side profile include ten-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome window lining. At the rear, The split taillamps get a crystalline design styling, and SKODA branding replaces the logo on the tailgate.
Skoda Slavia 2022: Interior and Tech
The Slavia comes with a large, premium, and comfortable cabin. The multilayered dashboard gets a 25.4 cm floating infotainment system. This system supports all modern connectivity features including Apple car play and Android Auto. Moreover, Slavia gets the same two-spoke steering wheel seen in the Kushaq. Other interior features include a Sporty gear knob, circular aircon vents, USB-C charging ports, wireless charging pad, smartphone pockets behind front seats, and ventilated front seats. also, the sedan comes with a great boot storage capacity of 521 litres.
Furthermore, safety features in the Slavia include 6 airbags, Isofix mount, ABS, vehicle stability management, Traction control, rain and light sensor, hill hold, and electronic differential system. Additionally, Skoda is also providing electronic stability control as standard across all variants.
Under the hood, Slavia gets the same engines from the Kushaq. The 1.5-litre TSI motor generates 150hp and the 1.0-litre TSI motor generates 113hp. A 6-speed manual or torque converter gearbox is provided as a transmission option.
Also, Skoda is providing an additional 7-speed DSG transmission as well.
The gasoline engine comes with an Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) which provides enhanced fuel efficiency at low speeds.
Pricing and Competition
We are expecting Skoda to price the Slavia somewhere between Rs.10- Rs.16 lakhs. Also, the new Slavia will rival the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, etc.
