Tata Motors recently released a video, hinting at the release of the Altroz automatic version, two years after the launch of the current Altroz. The Tata Altroz will be the second hatchback to don a DCT automatic option after the Hyundai i20. The Altroz hatchback is currently priced between Rs.5.99 lakh and Rs.9.69 lakh. The DCT automatic version is expected to be priced a little more than its MT version.
Engine and transmission
The Altroz is paired with a 1.2-litre Revotron engine that has a power of 86ps and torque of 113 Nm. The DCT gearbox is the first automatic transmission to be offered with Tata Altroz. The powertrain of the model may be changed to deliver instant torque at any gear, which reduces acceleration time.
Since the new model has two additional gears besides the manual, the DCT variant will definitely return better fuel economy on highways. The price for these models may be a little expensive due to the varied features. The DCT variant is expected to have an increase in the rate of around Rs.70,000 to Rs.1 lakh in comparison to the current model.

Tata is expected to offer the DCT gearbox only on the fully loaded XZ+ trim. The features for this variant include a 7.0-inch infotainment system along with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, a digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, automatic headlights, climate control and rain-sensing wipers.
