If you look closely the gap between Tata and Hyundai is not that big. With just 2,307 units difference, good sales for the next couple of months can change things for Tata Motors. They have also managed to overtake other major players such as Mahindra, Kia, Toyota, Renault and more. Tata Motors has impressed the market with its strong product lineup which includes the Punch, Nexon, Harrier, Safari, and Altroz. They have also included the Tigor and Tiago CNG recently. In the EV department, they have the Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
The 42,293 unit sales also include Tata’s electric vehicle sales. Tata has managed to sell 3,357 EVs in March 2022. This is a massive 376% YoY growth compared to just 705 units of EVs sold in March 2021. They have been the leader in EV sales in India for a long time. It is the first time for a carmaker in India to cross the 3,000 mark for EV sales in a month.
