Tata has had a wonderful 2021 and they are going strong this year as well. The electric SUV was teased a couple of days ago and today Tata has completely unveiled the new Curvv EV. The concept will first emerge as a fully electric SUV that sits above the Nexon EV. It will take on the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV when launched. The Tata Curvv concept will also come with combustion engines subsequently.
So what all details did Tata unveil about the car today? Scroll down for complete details.
Tata Curvv EV Concept Design
The Curvv concept takes huge inspiration from the Sierra Concept SUV. With an SUV DNA at its core, the Curvv has been designed for ample cabin space and easy manoeuvrability in traffic. It will be a very practical family car for long journeys. Speaking of journey, the EV range is expected to be 400-500 km on a single charge. This should be sufficient for a weekend getaway.
The Curvv is developed on Tata’s next-generation EV architecture. Compared to the existing architecture, the Gen-2 architecture should be flexible to accommodate a bigger battery and powertrain. In fact, the platform is capable of housing 2 electric motors providing the option of an all-wheel-drive system.
The exterior has a strikingly bold new design. Their logo is housed on the top of the bumper and has a long DRL on the tip of the bonnet spreading the whole width. The triangular headlights are on the lower side of the bumper. On the side, the sloping roofline and the heightened rear end give it a sporty coupe-like stance. Just like the front end, the rear also gets a width spanning taillights.
The frameless door lets you inside a simple and clean looking cabin. Apart from the 2 screens on the dash, the first thing you notice is the huge panoramic sunroof. The next-gen flat-bottom steering wheel hosts a few buttons for the drivers with an illuminated Tata logo in the centre. The cabin is designed with min buttons (Even the AC controls are touch-sensitive). Hence most of the controls can be handled through the infotainment system and important info is displayed on the instrument cluster.
Aimed to sit above the Nexon EV, we can expect more features in the Curvv. Tata didn’t reveal any more details. We need to wait further for all the details.
The Tata Curvv Concept will be production-ready by 2024. By then we would’ve witnessed the Altroz and Tiago electrified. The Curvv will be a good addition to their robust EV portfolio.
