Tata Motors has revealed the pricing for the new i-CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor. The price for Tata Tiago CNG starts from ₹6.09 lakhs and the Tigor CNG comes with a starting price of ₹7.69 lakhs (Ex-showroom). With the launch of the new CNG fleet, Tat has become the third automaker to provide vehicles with factory-fitted CNG units in India. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are the other manufacturers providing factory-fitted CNG vehicles. Here is more information about the new Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG.
Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG: Exterior and Interior updates
The CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor do not come with any styling updates. They feature the same specs and design elements seen in the standard variants of the respective cars. Furthermore, the only addition made to the exterior is the new i-CNG badge on the tailgate to distinguish the CNG models from the standard petrol variants.
There arent any significant changes made to the interior styling or features of both vehicles. However, since the CNG fuel tank is placed in the boot of the vehicle this results in a good reduction of available boot space. The Tiago’s boot space has gone down to 80 litres from 242 litres while the Tigor now has an available boot space of 205 litres from the total 419-litre boot space.
Furthermore, the tech features are the same corresponding to the variants. The high-end spec gets features such as 14-inch wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system complete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, projector headlamps with LED DRLS, projector headlamps with LED DRLS, eight-speaker Harman audio system, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable side mirrors, etc.
Tata Has always given utmost priority to driver and passenger safety. Moreover, Safety features include ABS, Dual airbags, rear parking camera, corner stability control, etc. In fact, the Tata Tigor and Tiago are the only CNG-powered cars that have a 4-star GNCAP safety rating.
Powertrain and Milage
Both Tiago and Tigor derive their power from the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revtron petrol engine seen in the standard version. This motor can produce 86hp and 113 Nm of torque. However, the CNG spec engine produces a power output of 73 hp and 95Nm of torque. This creates a 13 Hp and 18Nm gap between the petrol and CNG models of Tiago and Tigor. Both models get the same 5-speed manual gearbox. Moreover, Tata claims that the Tiago and Tigor can provide a milage of 26.49km/kg while running on CNG.
Tiago CNG is available in four different trims: XE, XM, XT, XZ+. While the Tigor CNG is available in two trims: XZ and XZ+. the prices for various models are given below
