Tata Motors Records 27% Overall Sales Growth in Feb 2022

Tata Motors has announced its sales figures for the month of February 2022. The homegrown automaker sold 39,981 units of passenger vehicles in the month of February 2022. It is quite obvious that the Tata Nexon recorded the highest sales in the month followed by Punch, the new micro SUV. However, we are still waiting on official numbers from the manufacturer.   

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Sales: February 2022

Tata achieved a total sales growth of 47% when compared to total passenger vehicle sales in February 2021.  Tata’s passenger vehicle sales figure for February 2021 was 27,225 units. This resulted in a positive sales growth of 47%. There was a 39% sales growth in the sales of ICE vehicles. Tata sold 37,135 units of petrol and diesel units. Figures for the same category in February 2021 were 26,733 units. Moreover, the automaker saw strong growth in the sales of its electric vehicles. In fact, Tata sold 2,846 EVs, compared to 492 units sold in February 2021, creating a whopping 478% growth in YoY sales.  

Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Sales: February 2022

The homegrown automaker saw sturdy growth in the commercial vehicles segment too. Tata achieved an 11% growth in the month of February 2022 by selling 37,552 units of commercial vehicles. The sales figures in the previous year were 33,859 units.

Domestic commercial vehicle sales grew by 9%. The total sales were 33,894 units when compared to 31,141 units sold in February 2021. The company was also growing steadily in the export of commercial vehicles. Tata saw a 35% growth in commercial vehicle exports by selling 3,658 units. The sales figure for the same category last year was 2,718 units. Additionally, Tata saw a positive sales growth of 27% from all vehicle segments. The manufacturer sold 73,875 units of motor vehicles in February 2022.
