The Nexon has been one of the bestsellers for Tata, since its launch in 2017 Tata has been updating the car. This evolution has made sure the Nexon holds on to its competitors in the market. It received few changes inside the cabin, and the facelift saw a host of exterior changes which was the reason for its successful sales. The SUV is popular for its design, solid build quality, powerful engine and safety rating which scored a 5-star from the Global NCAP.

What all has changed with the Tata Nexon?

Not too long ago, the centre console of the Nexon was updated by removing all the physically operated buttons and knobs to a clutter-free look. All the functions were integrated into a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also received a new set of alloy wheels last month, 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Now reports claim that few trims which were offered in diesel will be discontinued. This has been communicated to all the dealership and they are no longer accepting bookings for these trims. It is the XE, XMA, XZ, XZA+ diesel trims that the company has decided to put an end to. Low demand for these trims could be the reason but the company has not commented on this. Also, Tata has removed the Tectonic Blue paint scheme for the Nexon from its website. So the Nexon is offered only in 5 colours now- Flame Red, Foliage Green, Calgary White, Pure Silver and Daytona Grey.

Tata Nexon is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.2L turbo Revotron engine capable of producing 120ps at 5500rpm and 170nm of torque at 1750-4000rpm. The 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged Revotorq diesel engine makes 110ps and 260nm of torque. Both engines are equipped with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AMT.

The Tata Nexon goes against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Honda WR-V. This is a very competitive segment in the market right now with a lot of players. Nexon made the top 5 in the list of monthly sales for May 2021.
