The Tata Nexon EV is sold in XM, XZ+, XZ+ Dark, XZ+ Lux & XZ+ Lux Dark variants. All variants will see an equal hike in the price of Rs. 25,000/-. Now the starting price of Nexon EV has gone up from Rs. 14.29 lakh to 14.54 lakh. The top-spec variant of the Nexon EV has crossed the 17 lakh mark.

Tata Nexon EV Mileage and battery

The 30.2 kWh battery with the help of Tata’s ZIPTRON EV technology powers the Nexon EV. It has an ARAI mileage of 312 km on a single charge. Even though this range is less compared to its rivals MG ZS EV (419 km) and Hyundai Kona (452 km), the pricing is what helped the Nexon EV in its success.

Powered by a single motor, the Nexon EV produces 129 hp and 245 Nm of torque. The 3 phase permanent magnet synchronous motor only drives the front wheels.

Tata Nexon EV long-range

Reportedly, Tata is working on a long-range version of the Nexon EV. This EV is expected to get a 30% bigger battery pack than the existing Nexon. We could expect a battery capacity of around 40 kWh with an improved mileage of 400 km. The long-range Nexon EV will also cost 3-4 lakh more than the ongoing model. This closes the gap between the rivals, placing them in a similar price range, battery specs and mileage.

There will be no major updates on the long-range Tata Nexon EV interior or exterior. In fact, the floor and the trunk of the car are slightly modified to accommodate the bigger battery. There is a chance of the boot space getting small.
