Tata Motors best-selling SUV, Nexon price goes up once again. This time up to ₹11,000/- depending on the variant. This suggests that the brand is going to hike the prices of select models every quarter as a result of increasing input costs. Along with this, Tata has also reportedly removed 5 variants from the Nexon lineup.
Nexon price hike
The Tata Nexon price hike varies from ₹1,000 to ₹11,000/- depending on the trims. The fully loaded petrol trim has gone up by ₹10,500 whereas the diesel variant has gone up by ₹11,000/-. Defunct Nexon variants
Previously the Nexon SUV was sold in over 30 different variants excluding the dual-tone trims. Over the months, Tata has removed 5 different variants from the diesel trims. Now the Nexon diesel starts from the mid-trim, XM variant priced at ₹9.59 L. Variants such as the XE, XZ, XMA, XMA (S), XAZ+ S is no longer available.
The Tata Nexon
The Nexon has been the best-selling SUV in the segment for the brand. With a 5-start GNCAP safety rating the SUV has gained popularity among buyers. Pricing, practicality and safety have been the key features of the SUV.
The Nexon is equipped with a 1.2-L turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-L turbo diesel engine. The petrol mill puts out 120hp and 170Nm of peak torque. Whereas the oil burner (diesel) puts out 110bhp and 260Nm of peak torque.
Features include – a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, JBL audio system, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, electric sunroof and rear AC Vents. As far as safety is concerned, the Nexon gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBS, an electronic stability program (ESP), rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Tata Nexon will go against the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
