Tata Tiago gets a new trim XT(O) which is placed between the base trim XE and XT trims. The XT(O) trim will cost Rs. 5.47 lakh ex-showroom, Rs. 48,000/- more than the base trim XE and Rs. 15,000/- less than the XT trim. The Tiago XT(O) trim will miss out on a few features and is offered only in manual transmission option, according to the website. The Tiago has been one of the best sellers for Tata since its launch. The hatchback has gained popularity for its safety rating from the global NCAP, which received 4 out of 5 stars.

What is offered in the Tata Tiago XT(O) trim?

The Tiago XT(O) trim which is placed above the base trim gets body-coloured ORVMs with LED turn indicator, 14-inch steel rims, body-coloured door handles, premium piano black finish on the steering wheel, interior lamps, piano black finished infotainment system, night IRVM, electrically adjustable ORVMs, Speed-sensing auto door lock, four speakers, keyless entry, steering mounted controls and more.

The Tiago XT(O) trim placed below the XT trim is Rs. 15,000/- cheaper, missing out features like the ConnectNext infotainment by Harman, AM/FM Bluetooth connectivity, speed-dependent volume control and rear parking camera. Often the (O) trims are given additional features over the standard trim, but in Tiago, it is the opposite, the XT trim gets additional features compared to the XT(O) trim.

Under the hood, the Tata Tiago is equipped with the 1.2L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 86bhp and 113Nm of torque. The XT(O) trim is offered only with a standard 5-speed manual transmission. The Tiago AMT gearbox is made available from the XTA variants.

Tata Tiago which starts from Rs. 4.99 lakh ex-showroom has been a tough contender in the segment and it goes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Ford Figo. Tata is getting prepared to launch the new micro SUV internally codenamed the HBX by the end of 2021.
