BMW has revealed its most powerful EV the iX M60 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The all-electric SUV can produce a whopping 619hp of power. The iX M60 is the second M-performance electric vehicle from the German automaker.

BMW iX M60: Exterior and Interior Styling

BMW iX M60 The M-badged EVs look quite similar to their conventional sibling. However, BMW has included minimal bits and trims to distinct them from the conventional m series units. 

The aluminum space frame and carbon cage with carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic in the roof help in achieving the strength and lightness needed for creating fast vehicles. Moreover, other exterior highlights include M logos finished in gloss black and titanium bronze, M-branded brake callipers on the front, and larger alloy wheels when compared to the regular iX.

The interior styling is similar to the regular iX. The M60 comes with a curved display that supports BMWs eighth-generation iDrive operating system, Crystal rotary system, and natural wooden elements. Other interior highlights are leather tanned with olive leaf extract and other natural materials, and floor coverings made of Recycled fishing nets.

Color changing wrap

We have seen dual-tone and holographic wraps on cars. But BMW has just showcased an E-Ink wrap that lets the iX change its color. The E-ink wrap is similar to the displays in reading tablets and it can change its color in greyscale. This also opens doors to unlimited personalization options with just a click of a button.

Moreover, the wrap helps the vehicle to adapt to the climate and save energy. The E-Ink wrap can be turned to white during hot or summer days and black during winter to save energy used on climate control. This takes the electric SUV to another level of sustainability. we will have to wait and see if this super cool wrap will make it to the production vehicles.

BMW iX M60: Powertrain

The ix M60 is the most powerful EV From BMW. The all-wheel-drive powertrain can generate 619hp and 1,100 Nm of peak torque in Sport mode, and 540hp and 1,015Nm of torque while during standard driving. iX M60 can accelerate from 0-100 in just 3.9 seconds. However, the added power and torque do affect the overall range of the iX M60. The SUV can provide a range of 575km in a single charge.

The BMW iX was introduced in India for a price of Rs. 1.16 crores. It rivals the likes of all-electric SUVs such as Jaguar I-pace and Audi e-Tron.
