The Indian Automobile Industry is slowly but surely transitioning from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric vehicles. The Electric cars segment has an annual growth rate of 26% which means the demand for electric vehicles is also increasing.
Aiming to contribute to the growth in the market several car manufacturers are coming up with new launches that will soon hit the road. Here are the 5 car launches that are set to launch by the end of this year and next year.
- Tesla Model 3:
The American motor company is all ready to launch in India with the Model 3 electric sedan. The EV will enter the market via the Shanghai-based Gigafactory and will be priced starting at ₹60 lakhs. This car will also be the most affordable from the segment.
It will offer single and dual motor engine options and is an entry-level Standard Range Plus model that covers a range of 423Km and the AWD range offers a range of 568Km.
- Mahindra E-XUV300:
Mahindra & Mahindra confirmed their launch of the electric cars variant of the XUV300 subcompact SUV in 2022. The model will offer two variants, Standard and Long delivering battery power of 200kW and covering a range of 375Km.
It will be designed and based on the MESMA platform and features a 350V powertrain with electric motors that range from 60kW to 280kW.
- Hyundai Kona:
Hyundai is expected to launch the upgraded Kona Electric SUV later this year. The facelift variant receives quite the changes and a few mechanical upgrades.
The new Kona will offer a shift-by-wire system and a smart adjustable braking system. The car will have two variants, where the Long variant will offer a 64kWh battery pack with 204Ps electric motor and the Standard variant will get a 39.2kWh battery pack.
The Kona will deliver a range of 305 Km on a single charge.
- Tata Altroz EV:
Tata’s new Altroz EV is a much-awaited car and will be launching next year. The car will feature a Ziptron electric powertrain that is similar to the Nexon EV.
The car will offer an additional battery pack that is said to increase the range by 25-40% and will cover a range of 500Km.
The EV is also said to be equipped with the new ZConnect app that will have 35 car connected features.
- Mercedes EQS:
Post the launch of the EQC, the German Car manufacturer is bringing in the new Mercedes-Benz EQS EV next year.
This car will offer 523bhp against 856Nm, delivering more power than its previous variant and goes from 0-100 in 4.3 seconds, and has an electronic speed of 210kmph.
